A Letter to All Team Parents:

Parents of the Waves Booster Club, recently there have been inquiries into possible refunds from your Booster Accounts.  I would like to clarify again for all involved with Gymnastics 4 U Waves.  The Booster Club is a non profit organization whose sole responsibility is to provide for the competitive programs at Gymnastics 4 U, Waves, Tsunamis and Riptides.  When we are fundraising, it is under the umbrella of Gymnastics 4 U Waves Booster Club, it is not under the umbrella of a specific child.  All funds earned through fundraising activities belong to the Booster Club to be dispersed as the Booster Club has determined in their meetings.  If upon your choice to discontinue competing in your activity, be it gymnastics or cheer these funds are not reimbursable or refundable to an individual.  These funds would then be dispersed through the General Fund of the Booster Club to assist other children involved in these programs.  Our system is a point based system.  Funds earned through activities are equivalent to a dollar amount to be utilized to assist in purchase of grips, leotards, sweats, USAG fees, competition fees and camp fees.  These funds are not dispersible to an individual.  If you do not choose to participate in fundraising activities you have two choices.  You may choose to place funds into the Booster Club and obtain an equivalent number of points and then dispersible funds for your child involved in the activities, but with the knowledge, if for any reason you choose to discontinue gymnastics or cheer those funds are dispersed by the Booster Club for other children’s needs.  The only way to avoid this situation is to place funds into your Gymnastics 4 U Incorporated Account, where funds are then placed specifically into your child’s Gymnastics 4 U Inc. account, however because Gymnastics 4 U is not a non profit but a C Corporation in the eyes of the IRS all funds placed into the Gymnastics 4 U Incorporated accounts are increased by 35% to accommodate the IRS B&O, Washington State B & O and the City of Kelso B &O Taxes.  It is not the responsibility of the Gym to make the tax payments on funds which are being utilized for the purpose of your child’s competitive fees, USAG Fees, and or equipment.
